Camagüey

Left Trinidad and headed straight for our next stop Camagüey.

We were only in Camagüey for the night and leaving the very next day, so we didn´t have a lot of time there. When we got there we had a city tour on bicycle taxis which was a lot more fun than I was expecting. There were 5 of them with 2 of us in each of the taxis, the guys peddling seemed to enjoy themselves and we had plenty of friendly competition to be the first to get to the next stop or to just avoid peddling by hanging onto the one next to us. I´d recommend everyone take advantage of these as it is a great way of seeing the city being a little slower than car or bus and you feel a little more there.

Stopped by a church and got a great view of the city. Also stopped and had a drink and a birthday cake (someone in the group´s birthday) at a pirate cafe arrgggh.

We had another homestay which was very different to Trinidad as it was more of an apartment dwelling and completely different to the home feeling of Trinidad. We walked into our room and were greeted with the most fantastic poster.

Didn´t get up to much in the evening as we were needing an early one, but others in the group enjoyed themselves at a bar being a little more laid back than most of the places we´ve previously been to and gave them a chance to talk to some of the locals.
